Here Comes the Sun
While most people are just now peeking out of thier houses to enjoy the sun's rays, the guys at Prestissimo have been soaking it in all winter. We clean windows throughout the colder months, and we even clean gutters as long as they are not frozen. We also remove snow from roof tops, so the guys at Prestissimo are never lacking on time spent outdoors! This can be a blessing and a curse. Sometimes Carl returns from a job-cold to the bone from snow blowing in his face all day, while I've been inside, cozy at the computer. On the other hand, I have to make a real effort to get my vitamin D and exercise in the colder months and fight those winter blues, meanwhile Carl has a base tan and a jolly disposition.
The sun is something the guys at Prestissimo are always aware of, no matter what time of year it is. Cleaning windows means being face to face with reflective glass for hours on end. In this business, sunglasses are not just a silly fashion statement, they are an eye saving necessity!
Our daughter is only 6 months old. and won't be cleaning windows anytime soon. Still, we want to make sure her eyes are protected. Dad is all too familiar with how intense the sun's rays can be.
When selecting sunglasses, it is important that they state that they filter both UVA and UVB light. We found sunglasses for babies that do just that. The brand is called "Babiators" and they are available at Modern Natural Baby in Downtown Ferndale. The sunglasses are also flexible, with shatter resistant lenses. Register the sunglasses with the company, and they will send out a new pair if the glasses are lost or broken within the first year. As for dad, looks like he lost his sunglasses yet again...we are still on the hunt for the Babiators equivalent in adult sized eyewear...
